Cola Wars

Multinational corporations Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have exported the image of American democracy while simultaneously collaborating with anti-union forces and anti-democratic totalitarian regimes. This project examines the marketing of their products through drawings of historical cans and bottles from sites of anti-democratic collaboration and complicity. Another series of drawings use the product itself as material to abstractly fill in the traces of cans and bottles, begging the question of what the "it" really is.
